HIJAB AND PRIDE~

Assalamualaykum all,

Awesome! Yes just like the name of this website, and I love the way they delivered da'wah. We need more creative muslims to present da'wah in various way, inshaallah. May Allah rewards our small efforts with His Bless and Forgiveness. So this is one of their post that I wanna share with you, eagerly, well maybe its an old and neglected issue, but it still relevant to talk about. Here is some fun guides for ladies to wear hijab in a proper way as Allah had commanded.  Have a nice browse!

Hijab in Islam, is basically a “dress code” for Muslim women in public. Many perceive hijab as “traditional” and a form of oppression; but truth is, hijab protects and safeguards women from harassment! The wisdom behind hijab is to minimize sexual enticement and most importantly, it is a form of obedience to our Lord, Allah.  Take hijab as your pride, and Insyallah, you will become a better Muslimah.

1. The most basic form of hijab is to cover the whole body, except the hands up to the wrist. Take note that hijab is not only about covering your head with a headscarf, but it’s about covering your body too!  A hijab isn’t complete until both requirements (head and body) are covered:

♦”… that they (the believing women) should draw veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers…” [ An-Noor 24:31 ]

2. A proper hijab requires one to wear loose clothes in order to avoid “showing” those beautiful curves! The Prophet (pbuh) has warned us that women who are dressed yet naked (ie: tight-fitting clothes) will receive harsh punishment in Hell (nauzubillah).

•The Prophet (pbuh) said: “There are two types of people in Hell-fire whom I did not see: People who have with them whips that are like the tails of cow; they strike people with them. And women WHO ARE DRESSED YET NAKED, who are Mumilat (ie: who shake their shoulders when they walk, who draw the attention of those who are looking at them) and Ma’ilat, (ie: they walk in a slanting manner, strutting with a kid on fluidity of motion, so as to attract others)… they will NOT enter Paradise, nor will they smell its fragrance whereas its fragrance would be smelt from such and such distance” [ Sahih Muslim, Book 24, Chapter 26 #5310 ]

3. Ladies, keep your attire or outfit simple and modest! There’s no need to be flashy in order to attract the attention of others! Most importantly, it should be free of anything that may lead to arrogance, self-conceited, pride and riya’. As ladies, we are to display Allah’s blessings upon us in our clothing, but do it without going to the extreme of wastage or extravagance.

•The Prophet (pbuh) said: “He who trailed his garment out of pride, Allah would not look towards him on the Day of Resurrection” [ Sahih Muslim, Book 24, Chapter 8 #5195 ]

4. Think that headscarf or long skirt of yours is solid enough? Look again, it might be transparent and people are able to see the shape of your hair bun or legs! Whatever material or fabric you put on yourself; make sure they are not transparent!

 5. “Are you a girl… or a boy?” Is the type of question other people shouldn’t be asking when it comes to an individual, and we should avoid it at all costs! Dressing up/ looking as the opposite gender is dangerous to self, as it challenges the pride and it brings confusion to others. So ladies, be proud of your girly self!

•”The Prophet (pbuh) cursed the man who dresses like a woman and the woman who dresses like a man” [ Abu Dawood, 4/86 ]

6. Why bother dressing up the others (ie: the unbelievers) when you, as a Muslimah, have your own identity to be proud of? By imitating them outwardly, it might lead to imitating them inwardly (beliefs, characteristics). Muslim ladies too, have their own style and fashion to be proud of!

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Be different from the Mushrikin” [ Al-Bukhari, # 4/39 ]

P/S: This is so awesome isn't it? Congratulations to this blog that belong to two awesome mothers, they had make da'wah in a more fun way, I really impressive with their creativeness and efforts on this. Have a browse, grab and spread the good things you found there, inshaallah  )

HIJAB AND SCIENCE~

Hijab or ijāb (حجاب) is the Arabic word for “curtain / cover” (noun),
based on the root حجب meaning “to cover, to veil, to shelter”. In popular use, hijab means “head cover and modest dress for women”
The majority of Islamic scholars agree to the definition as covering everything except the
face and hands in public.
“O Children of Adam! We have sent down clothing to you to conceal your private parts, and fine apparel. But the garment of  the fear of Allah – that is the best! That is one of Allah’s Signs, so that hopefully you will pay heed.”
(Surat al-A’raf, 26)
Protecting the head is very important from a health perspective. Results of medical tests show that 40-60% of body heat is lost through the head, so persons wearing head coverings during cold months are protected about
fifty-percent more than those who do not.
Protecting the head is even more important in warm weather. V.G. Rocine, a prominent brain research specialist, has found that brain Phosphorus melts at 108 degrees; a temperature that can be easily reached if one stays under the
hot sun for any length of time without a head covering. When this happens, irreversible brain damage, memory loss and loss of some brain functions can result. Although this example is extreme, Brain damage can still be measured in small degrees from frequent exposure to and overheating of the head.
Protective clothing, such as Hijab, long sleeves, and covering clothes can block out the sun’s harmful rays. Sun damage produces most of the skin changes that people commonly associate with aging. Long-term exposure to the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight is responsible for fine and coarse wrinkles, irregular pigmentation, brown and red spots, and the rough texture of sun-exposed skin.
It was published in the British Medical Magazine that “the melanoma malignant cancer” which was one of the rare cancers is now spreading among women. The cases of this type of cancer are increasing among young
women. It affects their legs. The medical publication went on saying that the
main cause behind the spread of short dress & fashions which expose the body of women to the rays & light of the sun. Moreover, the transparent dress and legs gloves do not help in avoiding this type of cancer. This type
of cancer can also be transferred from mother to baby in the womb (if she lives long enough to give birth). The Medical Magazine appealed to the environment doctors to participate in collecting information about this type of cancer, because it is becoming an epidemic henomenon.
Good quality sun protection clothing covers a maximum amount of skin yet is designed to be cool and comfortable to wear.
Does this not perfectly describe the Islamic dress?
Hygienic Purposes:
Hijab or head-covering ensures cleanliness and purity. Workers in a number of professions wear “veils” – nurses, fast food workers, health care providers and many more. In fact, when we compare the number of workers who cover
their heads to the number who do not, we find that more people probably cover their heads than do not.
Why is it women only?
Science has confirmed that visual stimulation plays a predominant role in the physiology of men compared to women. The fact that the sex-industry in the West is targeted towards the male-market confirms it.
An estimated 91% of victims of rape are female, 9% are male and 99% of offenders are male. (Bureau of Justice Statistics 1999).
According to   USA TODAY reporter Kevin Johnson “no other major category of crime – not murder, assault or robbery – has generated a more serious challenge of the credibility of national crime statistics” than has rape.
“O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the believing women to draw their outer garments around them (when they go out or are among men). That is better in order that they may be known (to be Muslims) and not annoyed…” (Qur’an 33:59)
Conclusion:
Indeed, the teachings of Islam cater to humanity-at-large.  All problems affecting man and his environment can be solved through proper implementation of Islamic Law. But, how can the current global problems be solved through Islam, when Muslims themselves do not implement it? How can we prove to others that we can solve their problems when we ourselves
have more problems to solve?
“Help one another in righteousness and piety, but help not one another in sin and rancor:  fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.”  (Qur’an 5:2)
Hijab is not only the responsibility of the woman, it is also the responsibility of the man as a father, a husband, and/or a brother to make sure proper implementation of Islamic Law is enforced kindly, for it is their right to be
treated gently.
“All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of the people of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the shepherd of the house of her husband and she is responsible.
Each of you is a shepherd and each is responsible for his flock.”-Bukhari, Muslim

USAH MERAJUK WAHAI DAIE~

CERITA CIK PAU

O LORD, I-NEED-STRENGTH~

Nota Cinta-saujana

Andainya dapatku menulis
Nota-nota cinta buat diri-Nya
Ingin ku titipkan bersama
Semua kuntuman bunga
Yang indah berseri

Ku sembur haruman mewangi
Bersama kata-kata puji
Sedang Dia tahu kasih dan cintanya aku
Menjalin ikatan menuju ke Syurga

Cintaku kepada Dia
Rinduku hanya pada-Nya
Kasihku tulus buat-Nya
Setiaku balas kasih-Nya
Kasihku kasih yang setia
Pada yang punya

Dambaku pada Yang Esa
Pujian hanya buat-nya
Akurku kebesaran-Nya
Teragung Maha Suci-Nya
Taatku hamba yang hina
Pada Pencipta

Kiranya aku hilang arah
Jalan hidupku berubah punah
Namun kasih-Nya tak pernah akan musnah
Belas rahmat-Nya terus mencurah-curah
Nur Hidayah-Nya semakin cerah

RECAP TAFSIR SURAH AL-FATIHAH 2

RECAP TAFSIR SURAH AL-FATIHAH

alhamdulillah, setelah sekian lama menyendiri akhirnya berpeluang lagi utk menulis. <mode hepi setelah seharian beriktikaf di masjid al-azhar, kuis sementara menanti kereta sahabiah dibaiki..hehhee..>

kali nie, ana akan berkongsi sket summary tafsiran surah al-fatihah. utk menghuraikan makna lanjut surah al-fatihah atau nama lainnya, ummul kitab atau sab'ul mathani (ade 12 name sebenarnye) beberapa isu akan disentuh. utk makluman, ana menggunakan tafsir munir karangan dr wahbah azzuhaily di bawah pantauan ust zaidul amin (kuis).. sebarang ketidakfahaman, boleh rujuk ana @ mane2 ust tafsir ye..

1. kaedah memuji Allah

mazhab hanafi

tak wajib bace al-fatihah. imam je wajib. sekiranya solat sendirian, wajib bace "mutlaq    qira'ah" iaitu membaca mane2 ayat drpd al-quran (menurut imam hanifah, sekurang2nya 6 huruf). dalilnya:

(al-a'raf:204)

"sesiapa yang solat dibelakang imam, maka bacaan imam adalah bacaannya juga, " termasuk solat jahr /sirr

mazhab maliki, syafie, hambali

imam dan org yg solat sendirian wajib membaca al-fatihah dlm solat. dalilnya;

[tafsiran sedikit berbeza dengan hanafi sebentar tadi]. nabi juga membacanya. selain itu, mereka juga menggunakan hadis;

solatlah sebagaimana kamu lihat aku solat
